Christiana-Delaware State Police Detectives continue their investigation into the recovery of a body from the Christina River under the Christiana Bypass (DE 273) last Tuesday, and have positively identified the victim as Jonathan K. Sheriff-43, reported as a transient from Burlington, North Carolina.
Preliminary investigation by the Delaware State Police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner positively identified Jonathan K. Sheriff-43 through fingerprints obtained from the remains. An examination and autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner revealed no apparent trauma and no evidence of foul play at this time. The cause and manner of death is still under investigation.
State Police Detectives continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident.
