Sustained northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to around 50 mph are forecast. Most peak wind gusts for the day have already occurred and winds will slowly diminish into this evening, but the public should be aware of conditions and take precautions.

Strong winds and especially fierce gusts can make driving difficult, high profile vehicles and vehicles on bridges and overpasses can be effected. Scattered power outages are likely to occur. Blowing and drifting of snow will continue, especially on roads with northwestern exposure. Loose and unsecured objects may be blown about.

A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts in excess of 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution if you must drive. Blowing snow and high winds on roads that are still snowy and icy can create problems for drivers. Any travel this evening should be limited to absolutely necessary trips. If possible, stay home, stay warm and stay safe!
