Yesterday, was held the 39th annual Operation Teddy Bear at the Holly Center in Salisbury, Maryland.
Perdue Farms truck drivers and associates, and community volunteers gathered Saturday, December 7 at the Holly Center in Salisbury, Maryland to provide residents with rides in big rigs in a 39-year holiday tradition called Operation Teddy Bear.
The event serves to kick off the holiday season for the residents and staff of the Holly Center (a State of Maryland residential facility for people with mental and physical disabilities) and Perdue.
It’s part of the company’s Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors® outreach to improve quality of life and build strong communities.
The event was inspired by the late Red Sovine’s country song “Teddy Bear” about a wheelchair-bound child who wishes for a ride in a big rig.
