Milford, DE — Downtown Milford Inc. (DMI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening Milford’s historic downtown through economic development, community engagement, and cultural programming, will host a Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Milford Senior Center Crystal Room (111 Park Avenue, Milford, DE).
Held in partnership with the City of Milford and local faith- and community-based organizations, the event will honor the life, legacy, and enduring impact of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through an evening of music, community conversation, activities for children, and local vendors, offering a welcoming and inclusive experience for all ages.
The program will feature a keynote address by Cliffvon Howell, Associate Vice President of Engagement & Impact at United Way of Delaware, who will lead a thought-provoking dialogue focused on service, equity, and community impact principles that continue to define Dr. King’s vision and align with Downtown Milford Inc.’s commitment to a vibrant, connected community.
This free, family-friendly celebration is made possible through collaboration with Jesus Love Temple, Avenue Church, I Am My Sister’s Keeper, The Culture Club, Mount Enon Baptist Church, and other community partners working together to uplift voices, inspire unity, and strengthen Milford.
Downtown Milford Inc. invites residents, families, and visitors to gather in reflection and celebration as the community honors Dr. King’s legacy and recommits to building a more inclusive and thriving Milford.
