Sussex Academy math league teams just wrapped up a successful competitive season, with multiple students earning top spots in regional action. 

Eighth grader Neil Shenoy placed first as an individual, ninth grader Mia Benito earned second place as an individual, and the ninth-grade team placed first in the region. Shenoy also achieved a perfect score at the state competition.

Junior Jack Thomas placed third as an individual, and the 10-12th grade team placed second in the region.

Coached by Sussex Academy’s current teacher of the year, math department coordinator Megan Stevens, the 8-9th team comprises Neil Shenoy, Mia Benito, Dylan Navarette Lopez and Alex De La Rosa Perez, and the 10-12th team comprises Jack Thomas, Noah Benz, Priya Haldar, Oliver Graves, Ashlin Palmeri and Leo Benz.

Sussex Academy is a tuition-free, public charter K-12 school in Georgetown, Del. Its mission is to create a supportive school environment with accelerated learning opportunities that prepare students to explore, experience and excel.
