The Lewes Public Library will kick off its 2026 outdoor SummerScape performing arts series with an evening of Irish music and dance at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 3, in the library’s outdoor pavilion at 111 Adams Avenue in Lewes.

The season opens with “Between the Earth and Sky: Irish Songs, Stories, and Dances” featuring music and storytelling from renowned Irish bard Gerry Timlin and performances by the award-winning McAleer School of Irish Dance.

SummerScape events continue weekly on Wednesdays throughout June, July, and August, showcasing a wide range of music, dance, and theater experiences.

On June 10, last year’s crowd favorite Linda Harris returns with David Cole and Main Street Blues to present a living history of blues artistry. June 17th welcomes D.C.’s Daron Stewart for a one-man performance exploring the impact of writer and activist Langston Hughes’ extraordinary life. On June 24, country songwriter Bobby Tomberlin will share songs and stories from his Grammy-, CMA-, and ACM-nominated career.

A bonus event on Thursday, June 18, brings authors Kenneth Womack and Kenneth Campbell to the stage to discuss the legacy of Bruce Springsteen’s music, accompanied by musical performances from Elijah Elias.

Visit tinyurl.com/SummerScape26 to view the full summer schedule and learn more about each show. All events are free to attend, and registration is not required. The pavilion and surrounding lawn will be open the community to walk up with lawn chairs, or attendees may borrow a folding chair from the library. Picnics and blankets are also welcome. In the event of rain, the event will move inside the library.

SummerScape 2026 is made possible through the generous support of sponsors Jack Lingo, REALTOR; Browseabout Books; LPL Braithwaite Endowment Fund; M&T Charitable Foundation; The Inn at Canal Square; and the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment of the Arts.
