Hoy se celebra en Estados Unidos el “Día de la Constitución”

September 17th is Consitution Day –the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787–.
The Constitution was signed at Independence Hall in Philadelphia 239 years ago.
Independence Hall is considered the birthplace of the United States. It was there that the Founding Fathers debated and signed both the Declaration of Independence (1776) and the United States Constitution (1787).
Today, is more than a date on the calendar. It’s a chance to celebrate the document, ideals and freedoms that have helped shape our country. Constitution Day offers a step back from the daily political headlines and review the role of the Constitution in protecting the rule of law, judicial independence and our system of checks and balances.
The responsibility for sustaining the knowledge, institutions, and habits of self-government it depends upon belongs to every generation.
Throughout 2026, Americans have come together to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. But this Constitution Day is also an opportunity to look ahead. In just eleven years, our nation will mark the 250th anniversary of the Constitution.
Hoy, 17 de septiembre es el Día de la Constitución, aniversario de la firma de la Constitución de los Estados Unidos en 1787.
La Constitución se firmó en el Independence Hall de Filadelfia hace 239 años.
El Independence Hall es considerado la cuna de los Estados Unidos. Fue allí donde los Padres Fundadores debatieron y firmaron tanto la Declaración de Independencia (1776) como la Constitución de los Estados Unidos (1787).
Hoy en día, esta fecha representa algo más que una simple marca en el calendario. Es una oportunidad para celebrar el documento, los ideales y las libertades que han contribuido a forjar nuestro país.
El Día de la Constitución nos invita a hacer una pausa frente a los titulares políticos cotidianos y a reflexionar sobre el papel de la Constitución en la protección del Estado de derecho, la independencia judicial y nuestro sistema de pesos y contrapesos.
La responsabilidad de preservar el conocimiento, las instituciones y los hábitos de autogobierno de los que depende dicha Constitución recae en cada generación.
A lo largo de 2026, los estadounidenses se han unido para conmemorar el 250.º aniversario de la Declaración de Independencia. Sin embargo, este Día de la Constitución también brinda la oportunidad de mirar hacia el futuro: dentro de tan solo once años, nuestra nación conmemorará el 250.º aniversario de la Constitución.
