Humane Animal Partners to host low-cost vaccine clinics state-wide

Low-cost vaccine clinics aim to provide affordable veterinary care for pet owners

New Castle & Sussex Counties, DE – Humane Animal Partners (HAP), a statewide animal welfare organization with adoption centers in Wilmington, Stanton/Christiana, and Rehoboth Beach, is hosting four low-cost vaccination clinics open to the public throughout the remainder of summer. These clinics aim to make it easy and convenient for pet owners to receive vital pet healthcare services such as low-cost vaccinations, microchipping, deworming, and more. There is no appointment needed, services are discounted, and there is no exam fee.

HAP’s low-cost Vaccination Clinic summer dates:

● Saturday, July 20 from 9am – 11am at HAP Stanton/Christiana (455 Stanton Christiana Road Newark, DE 19713)
● Saturday, August 10 from 9am – 11am at HAP Wilmington (701 A St. Wilmington, DE 19801
● Saturday, August 17 from 9am – 11am at HAP Stanton/Christiana (455 Stanton Christiana Road Newark, DE 19713)
● Saturday, August 24 from 9am – 11am at HAP Rehoboth Beach (18675 Coastal Highway Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971)

Special note: For the health and safety of our client’s pets, the clinic originally scheduled for Saturday, July 13th has been canceled due to an outbreak of canine influenza.

The following services & products are available for cats and dogs:
○ Rabies vaccinations – $25
○ Distemper vaccination (DHPP or FVRCP) – $20
○ Bordetella vaccination (dogs only) – $20
○ Microchipping (permanent identification for pet/owner reunion) – $25
○ General dewormer (2 doses; sent home for in-home administering) – $10
○ State dog licenses – Cost varies; payment is accepted separately (at HAP Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach only)

Clinics are first-come, first-served. Cats must be in hard plastic or cardboard carriers, and dogs must be wearing a collar and on a non-retractable leash. If a dog requires muzzling for veterinary care, owners must bring a properly fitted muzzle and place it on their pet prior to arrival.

Payment is due at time of service. Credit/debit and cash accepted. Owners should bring identification with current address such as driver’s license, state ID, or military ID to expedite the completion of paperwork.

If available, please bring your pet’s most recent vaccine history, even if it’s expired. If an animal has had a previous rabies vaccination, the most recent rabies certificate with a veterinarian’s signature must be brought to the clinic in order to receive a 3-year rabies vaccine.

Animals as young as 6 weeks of age may receive a distemper vaccine. Animals must be 16 weeks of age or older to receive a rabies vaccine.
