Hosting a Special Summer Evening to Benefit Students of Culinary and Musical Arts.
Legendary local rock and soul bands The Funsters and Mike Hines and the Look have been making music in Delaware and beyond for decades. On Sunday August 4th at 6pm they will be performing on the same stage at in Milton, Delaware for the benefit of students pursuing a career in the musical and culinary arts. The event is hosted by Eagle Crest Concerts at Hudson Fields and the Paul Kares nonprofit organization.
The Funsters will also be featuring a new look and sound as part of their spring/summer concert series.
A female singer-musician has joined the longtime all-male lineup, bringing a fresh new flavor to The Funsters recipe that includes rock, soul, R&B … and fun!
Nancy Curry, who has performed for years as a solo act and as a member of the duo Ginger (with her husband Mike Curry, a guitarist with Love Seed Mama Jump), has officially become a member of The Funsters after impressive impromptu “sit-in” performances with the band in recent years at the annual Harry K Foundation fundraiser.
Say Funsters drummer/vocalist Ed Shockley: “The band is looking forward to the range of music Nancy will add to our vault of rock and soul music. Female vocalists have ruled the charts for the last two decades and we will now be adding that dimension to our performances.”
Mike Hines & The Look is a high-energy 5-member dance band that can bring any party to life. Also, a 2022 inductee into the Delaware Rock & Roll Society. They play r&b, hip hop, pop, old school funk with a taste of Motown and disco and have entertained large crowds for 3 decades.
Paul Kares is a nonprofit organization whose mission is dedicated to educating aspiring chefs or musicians, focusing on kids and young adults who show interest and passion for culinary and musical arts.
