Wilmington, DE – In a bold statement today, Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long’s campaign for Governor
highlighted the concerning influence of billionaire Philip Shawe on her opponent Matt Meyer, asserting
that Meyer is prioritizing the interests of a wealthy benefactor’s SuperPAC over those of the people of
Delaware.

Philip Shawe, CEO of Transperfect, is a bitter billionaire looking to settle old scores against the state of
Delaware and Governor John Carney at all costs. Shawe wants to completely dismantle the corporate
franchise tax, what would that mean for Delawareans? That means Philip Shawe’s pawn would totally
slash taxes for corporations putting that cost on the backs of everyday Delawareans. That means rising
property taxes and creating a sales tax in Delaware. That’s what Philip Shawe wants and Meyer would be
beholden to Shawe’s marching orders.

Meyer’s close ties to Shawe, along with his press conference directly coinciding with Shawe’s Super PAC
cable advertising spending that attacks the Lt. Governor raises serious questions about whether or not
the Meyer campaign is coordinating the timing of his press conference with Shawe’s SuperPAC.

Lt. Governor Hall-Long emphasized her dedication to transparency, integrity, and the people of Delaware,
ensuring that their voices are heard and respected.

”Our campaign is about the people of Delaware and their needs, not the interests of a single wealthy
individual,” Hall-Long continued. “I have always stood for accountability, transparency, and genuine public
service. I care about the issues that keep families up at night. As your next Governor, I will continue to
fight for the well-being and prosperity of every Delawarean, ensuring that our state is the best place to
live, work and raise a family for all of us.”

“I’m proud to be growing our campaign’s support and to be endorsed by our Governor John Carney,
members of the State House and State Senate, the AFL-CIO, DSEA, EMILY’s List, and the State
Democratic Party of Delaware.
