LAS AMERICAS ASPIRA ACADEMY: Grades K–8 will have a traditional snow day (no school), AVA will have a traditional snow day (no school). Grades 9–12 will have an asynchronous learning day.

CAESAR RODNEY SCHOOL DISTRICT: Caesar Rodney School District will be CLOSED on February 23, 2026. Maintenance and 12-month staff will receive further instruction.

CAPE HENLOPEN SCHOOL DISTRICT: No school on Monday February 23rd due to the winter storm.  Due to the Blizzard warning with potential power outages, this will NOT be a remote learning day; school is closed.  Again, there is no school tomorrow Monday, February 23rd.  

CHRISTINA SCHOOL AND OFFICES: Due to the anticipated weather conditions, all schools and offices in the Christina School District will be closed on Monday, February 23. Additionally, Preschool Programs, Adult Education, Continuing Education Classes, and Distance Learning sessions are canceled for the day. 

COLONIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT: All schools and offices are closed Monday, February 23rd.

DELMAR SCHOOL DISTRICT: Due to inclement weather all Delmar Public Schools will be closed on Monday, February 23rd. 

INDIAN RIVER SCHOOL DISTRICT: Due to inclement weather, all Indian River School District schools will be closed on Monday, February 23. Students are not required to participate in remote learning activities. Administrators should work remotely. School custodians will receive instructions from their chiefs. All other employees should not report to work.

KUUMBA ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL: Weather Closure

LAKE FOREST SCHOOL DISTRICT: Due to inclement weather, all Lake Forest schools and offices will be closed Monday, Feb 23, 2026.

MILFORD SCHOOL DISTRICT: Due to current weather conditions and anticipated snowfall totals, the Milford School District will be closed for all students and non-essential employees tomorrow, February 23, 2026. All non-essential employees should reference the District’s School Closure Outline for further instructions. All essential employees should report as directed.

Please be advised that the February School Board public meeting scheduled for tomorrow night at 7 PM at Morris Early Childhood Center will now be held virtually due to the current State of Emergency declared by the Governor. The published agenda on the District website contains the virtual link that will be used to broadcast the meeting which is scheduled to begin at 7 PM. All presentations and recognitions scheduled for tomorrow night’s Board meeting will be postponed, leaving only items requiring Board action on the agenda. Anyone looking for public comment must use the link provided in the current Board agenda.

RED CLAY CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL DISTRICT: Due to the State of Emergency and a forecast of significant winter weather, all Red Clay schools and offices will be closed on Monday, February 23. All activities and programs are also canceled. Monday is a traditional snow day (no virtual/asynchronous learning).

SMYRNA SCHOOL DISTRICT: On February 23, 2026, all Smyrna School District schools and offices will be closed to the impending weather conditions. 

SUSSEX ACADEMY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES: Sussex Academy closed Mon, Feb 23 due to blizzard conditions. This is our final traditional snow day.

SUSSEX TECHNICAL SCHOOL DISTRICT:

SUSSEX TECHNICAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

Due to numerous power outages across our county Sussex Tech will be closed today, Monday February 23, 2026.

Please stay safe and we continue to monitor the road conditions and outages and hope to return to school in some fashion tomorrow. 


On Monday, February 23, 2026, Sussex Technical High School will operate on a Remote Day schedule.

Students should log in to their classes during their assigned Zoom sessions with their teachers. Zoom links for all courses, along with any additional classroom materials, can be found in Schoology.

Parents and students with previously scheduled meetings should check their email for Zoom links and confirmation regarding whether their meeting will proceed as planned. This includes any IEP or 504 meetings.

BEEBE WALK-IN CARE CENTERS: On Sunday, Feb. 22, Beebe Walk-In Care Centers in Rehoboth, Millsboro, Georgetown, Milton, and Millville closing at 4 p.m.

Virtual and Telemedicine Appointments Available 

Primary and specialty care appointments are being rescheduled or converted to telemedicine where clinically appropriate.   

Virtual Walk-In Care Visits will be available through MyChart from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday.   

Here is the process for Virtual Walk-In Care Visits:  

  1. Login to MyChart app or desktop version.  
  2. Click Schedule an Appointment  
  3. Click Virtual Walk-In Care Visit   
  4. Follow the pre-appointment registration  
  5. You’ll be added into a visit queue  
  6. You can stay in the app or browser, or you will receive a text message when your appointment begins   
  7. Please use a device with a camera.

STATE OF DELAWARE OFFICES: State of Delaware offices in all three counties will be closed on Monday, February 23, 2026, effective 12:00 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. Non-essential employees are not to report to work for this period. Essential employees designated for severe weather are to report as scheduled.

WILMINGTON CITY OFFICES:

City Offices to Close on Monday, February 23, 2026, Sanitation Collection Suspended, William Hicks Anderson Community Center Activated as Code Purple Shelter

Shelter:

  • Due to an increase in expected snow accumulation, William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center (501 N. Madison St.) will be activated as a Code Purple shelter from 5 pm on Sunday, February 22 through 10 am on Tuesday, February 24. Walk ins are welcome.


Sanitation
:

  • Sanitation crews will focus their efforts on plowing and snow removal. Trash and recycling collection will be suspended until further notice.

Roadway Conditions and Plowing:

  • Crews were out brining streets on February 21 and February 22.
  • 24 City plow trucks are prepared to begin plowing streets. Contractors are on standby in the event that additional support is necessary.
  • Be mindful of where you park. Avoid parking too close to crosswalks or street corners so our crews have the space they need to safely access and plow the roads. If you can park in a garage, please do so. Our priority is to make primary streets, bus routes, hospital roads, and school streets passable as quickly as possible.

City Operations:

  • City Offices will be closed on Monday, February 23, 2026. 

Preparedness:

  • We are expecting strong winds, which increases the likelihood of power outages. Charge your electronics now. If you lose power, please do not call 911; contact Delmarva Power directly.
  • Check on neighbors who may need assistance, especially seniors and those with mobility challenges.

TOWN OF GEORGETOWN OFFICES: Town of Georgetown offices will be closed on Monday, February 23, 2026, because of the significant snowfall and to allow for the clearing of snow.

The Town Council Meeting scheduled for Monday, February 23, 2026, at 7:00 PM is also cancelled. Agenda items will be added to the March 9, 2026, Town Council Meeting.

SUSSEX COUNTY GOV OFFICES: Sussex County government offices closed Monday, Feb. 23, 2026 due to winter weather

SEPTA Service Update: Winter Storm (PA and DE)

SEPTA is advising riders of the following service updates:

  • Bus service is in the process of being restored as streets are cleared.
  • The Center City Trolley Tunnel has reopened. The D and M lines are running modified service, and Route G remains suspended.
  • Regional Rail service remains suspended until safety inspections can be completed.
  • L, B, and T service is operating with delays.

Customers are urged to check for service updates on the Alerts section of SEPTA’s website at septa.org/alerts.

Customer service agents are available at (215) 580-7800 for extended hours today, Monday, February 23 from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.

  • All Bus service, including G service, is suspended until further notice.
  • T service is diverted to 40th & Market Streets.
  • Regional Rail is temporarily suspended until safety inspections are complete.
  • M service is operating only between 69th Street Transit Center and Radnor Station.
  • L, B, and D service is operating as normal; however, delays and cancellations are likely.

Due to deteriorating weather conditions SEPTA is advising riders of the following service updates:

  • All bus routes will be suspended at 10 p.m.
  • The Center City Trolley Tunnel (T Lines) will close at 9 p.m.; however trolleys will continue until end of service tonight or until conditions warrant
  • D Line Trolley: currently on bus substitution. Service tonight will end at 10 p.m. and train service will start in the morning depending on conditions
  • M Line (Norristown High Speed Line): Trains will operate until end of scheduled service 
  • Regional Rail: Service will operate until end of scheduled service tonight

In MARYLAND:

SOMERSET COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT: The Somerset County Health Department will be closed Monday, February 23, 2026 due to the inclement weather.

WICOMICO WARMING CENTER OPEN:

WHO:                 Wicomico County Health Dept./Department of Social Services/Wicomico Co. Emergency Services

WHAT:               Residents can go to the warming center while our area is experiencing power outages from the recent snow storm.  Please bring snacks and medication.

 WHEN:               Monday February 23rd

 WHERE:             Wicomico Civic Center Midway Room 500 Glen Ave. Salisbury, MD 21804

                                   Please be very careful driving to the Civic Center.  Make sure you clear all snow off of your vehicle.  Be sure to drive slowly there may be                                           snow drifts and blowing snow which can make it difficult to see.  There could also be downed trees and power lines.
