WILMINGTON, DE — Community organizer, housing advocate, and voting rights leader Branden Fletcher-Dominguez today announced his candidacy for Delaware State Representative in the 3rd District, launching a campaign focused on lowering costs for working families, expanding affordable housing, strengthening public education, and building a government that works for everyday people.

At 26 years old, Fletcher-Dominguez has spent years organizing alongside residents fighting for affordable housing, voting rights, and economic justice. Through his work with housing advocacy organizations and as a voting rights organizer with the ACLU of Delaware, he has helped Delawareans make their voices heard and pushed for policies that expand opportunity
for working families.

“I am running because, as a Black, Puerto Rican man, I know what it feels like to go unheard — and I believe our community deserves leadership that understands and addresses the day-to-day struggles people are facing,” said Fletcher-Dominguez.

“Too many people in our community are working harder than ever and still struggling to get ahead. Families are being squeezed by rising rents, high utility bills, and the increasing cost of everyday necessities. We need leaders who understand these challenges firsthand and are willing to fight for solutions that put working people first.”

Fletcher-Dominguez’s campaign will focus on:
● Housing Justice and Affordable Housing, including efforts to stabilize rents, expand affordable housing options, and ensure fair property tax policies.
● Lower Utility Costs by addressing rising electric bills and improving affordability and accountability within Delaware’s utility system.
● Transportation and infrastructure investments that create safer streets, improve neighborhood connectivity, and expand transportation options for working families. Fletcher-Dominguez said his campaign will emphasize grassroots engagement, community partnerships, and direct conversations with residents throughout the district. The election for Delaware’s 3rd Representative District will be held on September 15, 2026.
