DOVER, DE – On Thursday, June 11th, Rep. Josué Ortega (D-Wilmington) will host a public celebration at Legislative Hall to recognize Delaware’s first Puerto Rico Day.
The festivities will begin with a flag raising ceremony at the East Steps of Legislative Hall at 11:00 AM, immediately followed by a press conference. Festivities, including live singing, dancing, and music, will take place on the Green, across from the main entrance to Legislative Hall, during and following the press conference.
To conclude the event, Governor Matt Meyer will join Lieutenant Governor Kyle Evans Gay, Senator Elizabeth “Tizzy” Lockman, other speakers, and Representative JosueOrtega to officially sign House Bill 290, which establishes Puerto Rico Day in Delaware, into law.
