Lewes, Del. – Sussex County Habitat for Humanity invites the community to attend the official launch of A Home for Habitat, an exciting new initiative to create a central hub for its operations and expand its Restore. The launch event will take place on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sussex County Habitat ReStore, located at 18501 Stamper Drive in Lewes.
The A Home for Habitat project will nearly double the size of the current ReStore and introduce a second-story office space, allowing Sussex County Habitat for Humanity to bring its staff, volunteers, and resources together under one roof. The expansion is designed to strengthen the organization’s ability to serve families across Sussex County while increasing the ReStore’s capacity to support affordable housing efforts.
“This project represents an important step forward for our organization and the community we serve,” said Kevin Gilmore, CEO of Sussex County Habitat for Humanity. “By expanding our space and uniting our operations, we’ll be better equipped to meet the growing need for safe, affordable housing in Sussex County.”
The public launch event will offer attendees an opportunity to learn more about the project, hear from organizational leadership, and celebrate the beginning of this new chapter. Community members, partners, and supporters are encouraged to attend and be part of this milestone moment.
Proceeds generated through the ReStore directly support Sussex County Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building and preserving affordable housing, and the expansion will allow the organization to increase its impact in the years ahead.
