Nanticoke Health Services appoints four new board members

Nanticoke Health Services announces four new members that will serve on the Board of Directors for Nanticoke Health Services: Mr. Donald Hollenbeck, Ms. Trina Joyner, Dr. Harry Lehman, and Ms. Tammy Paxton.

Nanticoke’s President & CEO, Mr. Steven Rose said, “We’re excited to have new voices from our communities who bring a variety of experiences and backgrounds, producing a wide array of perspectives.” Mr. Kent Peterson, Board Chairman, agreed by saying, “We are grateful to have four new Board individuals who are willing to give their time and expertise for the benefit of the hospital and community.”

Mr. Donald Hollenbeck received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Drexel University and attended Drexel University’s two-year Polymer Engineering program where he developed a technical background in plastic materials. Mr. Hollenbeck is the majority owner and President of Craig Technologies, Inc., a manufacturer of precision ground plastic balls. In 2006, he and his partners formed Craig Ball Sales, Inc., a distributorship for metal, glass, and ceramic balls. In 2007, they purchased Flow Smart, Inc., a manufacturer of high purity gaskets and hose, and in 2009 they purchased Linus Tooling, Inc., a manufacturer of precision molds and dies. All companies are located in the Seaford Industrial Park. They also own a company known as RLDP Holdings, LP that is their real estate holding company. Mr. Hollenbeck is active in the Society of Plastics Engineers. He currently serves as the Society’s Membership Chairman and has an honorary position on the Board of Directors. Mr. Hollenbeck is a Past President and active member of the Nanticoke – Seaford Rotary Club.

Ms. Trina Joyner received an Accounting and Business degree from Morgan State University and has been a licensed real estate sales agent since 2003. She is currently a broker/associate with Century 21 Ramey Real Estate in Seaford. She is a certified residential specialist, a certified instructor in At Home with Diversity, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Sussex County Association of Realtors. Ms. Joyner initiated the Diversity Committee for the Association and has served as second and first vice president — currently President-elect (2011). She serves on the Delaware Association of Realtor’s Board of Directors and volunteers her time as a committee member for Nanticoke Memorial Hospital’s Community Benefit Committee, and Auction Committee.

Dr. Harry Lehman, III, MD, FAAP, completed his undergraduate degree in chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh and Washington & Jefferson College. He completed his residency and medical degree, specializing in pediatrics, at Hahnemann University. Dr. Lehman has been practicing pediatrics through his private practice in Seaford for over 25 years and has been Chair of Nanticoke Memorial Hospital’s Department of Pediatrics for 12 of those years. He has served as President of Nanticoke Memorial Hospital’s Medical Staff, as President of the Medical Society of Delaware, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Delaware American Academy of Pediatrics Board, the Delaware Lead Advisory Committee, and a member of Sussex Child Health Promotion Coalition. Dr. Lehman is a co-creator of the Get Active: Your Prescription for Health program launched in Sussex Delaware June 1, 2011.

Ms. Tammy Paxton received her masters in Nursing from the University of Maryland and a post masters certificate in Nursing Education from Widener University. She also received an advanced educational technology certificate and a leadership development certificate from Delaware Technical & Community College. Ms. Paxton has worked as a nursing instructor with Wor-Wic Community College, as a staff nurse at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, and is currently a nursing instructor with Delaware Technical & Community College. She’s been a member of the Nurse Educator Examination Test Development Committee and is currently a NLNAC Evaluation Review Panel member. She is also involved with Sigma Theta Tau, Phi Kappa Phi, the American Nurses’ Association, the Delaware Nurses’ Association, and the National League for Nursing.
