Dear Health Professionals:
I am Pastor Israel Figueroa of a Hispanic church in Seaford, DE. For the last twelve years our church has been working with the Hispanic communities from Delmar to Greenwood and various others in Sussex County.
We have partnered with community members and agencies to provide services like MATCH Van (Delmarva Rural Ministries), English as a Second Language, Women for Health (Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc), HIV Counseling (La Red Health Center) and Parents as Teachers (Parent Information Center of DE) Kent General Hospital, Beebe Medical Center, Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Sussex Child Health Promotion Coalition, Children and Families First and others. Our 2010 health fair will be sponsored by Sussex Child Health Promotion Coalition
This year after a great success of our seventh prior annual health fairs we are very excited to gather once more health professionals, at our facilities, for what we expect to be a greater success the “Eighth Annual Iglesia de Dios Maranatha’s Health Fair”. In order to provide our Hispanic community the opportunity to learn about your services and for you to be able to outreach where a captive audience is present, we strongly encourage your attendance. We are expecting a crowd of 200 to 300 people. The Health Fair is for everyone and we will have Tweedy, Sylvester and Shirk the characters, as well as a moon bounce to entertain the kids.
We have schedule the Health Fair for Saturday April 24, 2010 from 8:30am to 2:00pm.
There are services available in our Seaford and surrounding areas that we have not been exposed to. This is a great time for you to let us know who you are, especially if your staff is bilingual or you have access to interpreters to translate during a client visit. Our personal will be available to assist your staff with translation and interpretation services if needed.
Most of you have already confirmed your participation in this event. However, there may be other health providers we may not have reached. We ask that you help us by sending a copy of this letter to other providers who may be interested.
