The Friends of the Milton Public Library, in collaboration with the Milton Library Staff, Charito Calvachi-Mateyko, Dr. Christine Cannon of the Arsht Cannon Fund and the Delaware Hispanic Commission have worked together to provide a cultural event where we can learn from one another in a welcoming and safe environment.

Date: Saturday, December 16 at the Milton Public Library, 121 Union Street; 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The 2023 Hispanic Heritage Event will serve as a cultural destination for community members of all ages to explore a community of diverse demographics who may not be knowledgeable about each other’s culture with a special focus on the Latino culture. It fosters a platform to learn about empathy and known privileges that are not shared by Latinos or people of color in general. This will be implemented through the cultural entertainment, foods and activities designed to teach about the culture.

Key Highlights of the Hispanic Heritage Event:

Statewide and Community Organization Vendor Fair.

Networking and Engagement: Representatives from participating organizations will be on hand to discuss their missions, answer questions, and provide information about their organizations with an emphasis on the Latino community.

Supportive Environment: The Hispanic Heritage Event will offer a welcoming, safe and inclusive atmosphere.

Special Performances by world renowned Dayan Aldana professional singing artist originally from Chiclayo, Peru and the Casa Guanajuato Dance Group.

Cultural foods will be served provided by various local restaurants.

Drawing Prizes.
