The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist, Milton, will be providing free brown-bag lunches for hungry kids on Thursdays from June 14 through Aug. 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the parish’s vacant lot across Wharton Street from the parish parking lot.

The lunch will include a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a sweet and a bottle of water, and will be available “to go” or may be enjoyed there at a table under a tent. The program, called “Sandwich Thursday,” partially addresses the need of children who rely on school lunches which are not available to them in the summer.

Tents, tables and a large banner will be erected at the grassy lot located just behind Gustafson’s Clock and Watch Repair. Inclement weather will relocate the event to the parish hall.

The public is encouraged to visit the event and to share the information.
