The Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce (GGCC) is excited to announce and welcome Kevin Thompson as the organization’s new Director of Operations. He will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Chamber by working with the Board of Directors and Chamber Members to establish long-range goals, plans, and policies.

Kevin comes to the Chamber with 12+ years of experience in the marketing, IT, hospitality, events, and automotive fields. His most recent experience is with Tunnell Companies L.P., owner of Baywood Greens and Pot-Nets Communities, where he held the position of Director of IT & Social Media. While there, he was instrumental in the implementation of the company’s social media and email marketing programs, and was consistently utilized as a team member on major projects, including the creation of the Vacation Rentals program. He played a key role in other departments as well, managing the Baywood Clubhouse’s Valet Program and assisting with day-of event coordination for the Events Department.

A Sussex County native, Kevin received his education at Cape Henlopen High School, holds a diploma in Collision & Refinishing Technology from Wyoming Technical Institute, and graduated at the top of his class at Delaware Technical Community College with an AA in Marketing.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of the Chamber,” says Thompson, “I like to think my varied background gives me a unique perspective when it comes to problem solving and creative thinking. I hope to be able to help the Chamber and its members grow more successful and make the Town of Georgetown a destination for everyone in the County!”

Donna Koskey, 2018 Georgetown Chamber President and owner of Chardon Jewelers LTD in downtown Georgetown, said “We are so excited to have Kevin onboard! His experience across different industries and his unique point of view are sure to be an asset to the Georgetown Chamber. I’m confident that Kevin will play a vital part in the future success of the Chamber and its members.”
